Description
I'me using for a while version 1.3.4 of VirtualBox. I've put my VDI files and others in an external USB HD Drive. I don't have any problem in this configuration.
I've updated to VirtualBox 1.5.4. When I start a Gest machine, the USB drive is disconnected. And of course the Gest cannont start, without VDI file. On my Host (WinXP) the drive is really disconnected, I don't see it anymore.
Any solution for this problem ? Thanks !

The USB subsystem of Windows changed completely with release of VirtualBox 1.4.0. It is ever possible that VirtualBox grabs an USB device which is connected to the host, especially for Windows hosts. This behavior depends heavily on the host. Therefore add an appropriate USB filter which does not pass all USB devices to the guest but only selected. Closing this bug.
You shouldn't add the USB drive to the list of USB devices that are grabbed by VBox. I don't see any other way for this to happen.
