Qcow snapshot crashes

ArchLinux 3.11.1-1-ARCH x86_64

virtualbox 4.2.18-1

Guest OS:

Win XP SP3 x86

Additions 4.2.12

Qcow(1) 10 GB image created with Qemu 1.5.2-1 (60% of image free)

Problem and how to reproduce:

• Boot and take snapshot -> VM crash and segfault in dmesg (segfault at 0 ip 00007f64128d29f8 sp 00007f6408245510 error 4 in VBoxDDU.so[7f64128b8000+56000])

• VM is aborted and no snapshot anywhere.

Fix:

Convert image to vdi

I would expect at least some window with message "this feature isn't supported". Thanks.

Works for me, probably fixed quite some time ago. Please reopen if still relevant with a recent release of VirtualBox.
