Description

I'm using virtualized Windows XP on Ubuntu host. Normally, it's not crashing at all. But when working in Visual Studio, it crashes quite often. Window with Windows is closed and marked as "Cancelled". It happens especially on unhandled exceptions...

Does it crash if you disable 3D acceleration and 2D video acceleration support, in the VM settings? Are you running Windows XP 64 bit or 32 bit? What version of Virtual Studio are you using?

Also a core dump would help debugging.

Thanks for reply. Well, I tried to disable 3D acceleration and it didn't help. Then I disabled 2D accel. and also no change so far... Windows are 32 bit, SP3. Visual Studio info:

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.0.30319 RTMRel

Installed Version: C# Express

Microsoft Visual C# 2010 01014-169-2560017-70845 Microsoft Visual C# 2010

Security Update for Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express - ENU (KB2251489) KB2251489 This security update is for Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express - ENU. If you later install a more recent service pack, this security update will be uninstalled automatically. For more information, visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2251489.

I will try to get a core dump and post it.

Hmm, bziped CoreDump is just slightly bigger than limit here so you can find it uploaded on my G Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByDl-8b6sdtbWVhOSy1HRHFaSzQ/view?usp=sharing.

This looks like a duplicate of #13742, fixed after 4.3.28 was released. Please, can you try a testbuild?

comment:6 by Frank Mehnert, 9 years ago

Here is the corresponding Ubuntu package.
