Description
Failed to import appliance /home/tom/Downloads/sol-11_3-ovm-x86.ova.
First file in the OVA package must have the extension 'ovf'. But the file 'sol-11_3-ovm-x86.mf' has a different extension..

please, provide more information about your case. I imported the last version of sol-11_3-ovm-x86.ova which i had got from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/downloads/vm-templates-2245495.html. Import was successful.
What is the place where you downloaded OVA package from? what is the version\date of your OVA package? Have you tried the last version of sol-11_3-ovm-x86.ova? and any other info which can help.
