Description
Under Windows 2000, shared folders are not automatically mounted at system start whereas it was the case with virtualbox 5.0.24. Manual mapping is required.

I completely forgot to answer to this one, it was in one of my forgotten tabs. I was able to replicate your problem at some point. I can't remember the exact version, most probably 5.1.0 or 5.1.2, maybe even I tried with 5.0.24.
Not anymore! I am running the developer builds (5.1.3 build 109780), so I guess it must have been fixed at some point. We are now at VirtualBox 5.0.26 (released 2016-07-18), so give it a try.
