Description

Screen auto-resize does not work.

Host: Windows 10.0.14393 with VirtualBox 5.1.4 r110228 (Qt5.5.1)

Guest: Fedora 24 (kernel 4.6.7) with VBox Guest Addtions (5.1.4r110228) Video memory: 128MB (tested with and without 3D acceleration).

After more testing it seems the issue is present only in the Fedora 24 MATE spin.

Testing installation from scratch:

Fully updated Fedora 24 MATE Desktop - auto-resize fails
Fully updated Fedora 24 GNOME3 Desktop - auto-resize works

Working a bit more with both VMs, the Gnome3 VM will resize a few times (8-10x) and then go unresponsive. The MATE VM will resize a single time and then resizing stops working (but VM continues to work).

Tested with VirtualBox 5.1.5 (110344).

Fedora 24 Gnome 3 - Worked (can't make it unresponsive anymore) - OK!
Fedora 24 MATE - Resizes a single time and then not anymore

Summary:	Fedora 24 guest (kernel 4.6.7) auto-resize not working → Fedora 24 guest (kernel 4.6.7) auto-resize not working -> duplicate of #15875

Possible duplicate of #15875. Please take a look at that, try the Guest Additions test build and re-open this ticket if the issue is still present.
