Linux 4.7.2 guest has serious problems

Description
Host: Fedora 24, VB 5.0.26
Guest: Fedora 24 with guest extensions
Kernel upgraded from 4.6.7-300 (working) to 4.7.2-201.
Won't boot to X, locks up, needs restart. Will boot to runlevel 3 but seems unstable. Reinstalled guest additions, rebooted. Same problems. Also, startx won't work in runlevel 3. There are other issues while the system is running. Won't shutdown cleanly.
