That's how it's supposed to work in real systems! What were you expecting exactly? From the videos you posted you are the administrator! And "regedit"? Every simple user can run that, without administrator password requirements. I see you're on OSX, have you tried real Windows systems?

I did check all your links.

Next to my Mac, I have a PC with 3-ple booting: Win7-32, Win7-64, Win10-64. The behavior that you show is exactly the same on all of the physical systems as well. Plus, there's no way on this side of the universe that VirtualBox can interfere at such a level inside a VM.

Again, this is verifiable behavior on a physical Win7-32.

Just to be clear: videos 1, 2, 4 are working as they should. There's something wrong with the behavior in video 3. As for saying that you need UAC control in order to run regedit, that's where you're wrong. Even with the highest setting in UAC, even a simple user can run it without a prompt.

The permissions in the registry are NOT controlled by the UAC, but with ACLs in the keys themselves.

I forgot to tell you that it's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the ​VirtualBox forums. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".
