Restoring Snapshots of VB 7.0.20 failing in 7.1

Reported by: iv3l.nuh Owned by:

Description (last modified by paulson)

I am running the latest Debian Bookworm 12.7 with 6.1.0-25-amd64 kernel. I had the 7.0.20 VBOX where I created simply an Ubuntu server VM and a Client VM. Updated the VBOX to 7.1.0. My V-machines created in 7.0.20 work fine, but when want to restore to previous Snapshots created under 7.0.20, in the 7.1.0, an error occurs:

VM Name: vm-server

The VM session was aborted. Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) Component: SessionMachine Interface: ISession {c0447716-ff5a-4795-b57a-ecd5fffa18a4}

Thanks for the report. A fix has been putback in revision r164816 of the development branch of VirtualBox and is available now in the development snapshot Testbuilds. Could you download a snapshot with a development revision build with revision >= r164816 for your host platform type and try it out? Thanks!

Sorry, I did not have any serious work going on, so just deleted everything, uninstalled old VBOX, got the latest one (now 7.1.2) and all good. So cannot test out the new one with the old snapshots. Next time I will keep my old setup for a while to get better feedback. Thanks again for the bug-fix !!!
