Description
I've been using the VirtualBox command line manage interface and the clonevdi utility to backup the 64 GB Windows XP.vdi image on a periodic basis. Now since VirtualBox 2.1.0 came out yesterday, the use of the clonevdi and clonehd utilities fails to make the process bar go past 0% when the hard disk image cloning process goes under way.
I used the Process Explorer to monitor the activity of the processes that are running in the background on my 64-bit Windows Vista host PC and I had to terminate the VBoxSVC.exe process since the I/O Write Bytes count went past the 64 GB mark. Here's the output of what the progress looks like when the utility was writing over 28 GB of data to the backup hard disk image:
"Windows XP VDI image created on 2008/7/31 at 21:45:34.
VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 2.1.0

0%..."
Is there a way to fix this issue?
I tried to be as specific as possible, but this is the problem that I've been getting since I upgraded to VirtualBox 2.1.0.

Try again with 2.1.4 and reopen if required.

I'll try the hard drive cloning process again to see if it works. :)
*sigh* I should have shortened the name of the defect and unfortunately, there is no way to fix it. :\
