host-only networking fails randomly — at Initial Version

Description
host: Windows XP SP2 guest: Debian 5.0. x32 VirtualBox 3.1.2
Host-only network adapter, (DHCP) guest get IP address 192.168.56.101, but the host-guest networking randomly fails. Sometimes cannot ping guest, cannot connect to guest via ssh or http: link seems to be up (I've run ethtool on guest), but I get connection errors. Wait some minutes, and connection randomly works (for some minutes) -- and fails again.
Firewall disabled on host/guest. Bridged networking has no problem.
I think this problem has some relation with Ticket #5880 (Network Problem : Host-only Adapter).
