Description
While running Solaris 10 u5 as the host OS (computer Dual Opteron 2218, 16GB RAM, 900GB HDD), and running Windows XP SP2 to run VLC playing a DVD in the host computer (host DVD selected). VLC had just started the opening film credits when I stopped VLC by selecting the close window in upper right hand corner. Then I attempted to umount the DVD drive with the VirtualBox window menu, at this point VirtualBox 3.2.6 hung and hung the Solaris 10 desktop. Note the mouse would continue to move but it was impossible to select any icon on the desktop. By SSHing in to the computer, I was able to kill VirtualBox and unfreeze the desktop.

I wonder if this could somehow related to 3D. Is there anything interesting in /var/adm/messages ?

I have checked /var/adm/messages and there are no error messages. However, in relation to the DVD the following messages did appear in the log with 5-10 minutes before the crash.
