http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/3.2.8/MD5SUMS doesn't match it's own entry.
Maybe one could sign the MD5SUMS file to make sure that it has not been tampered with?

Just ignore that checksum. The MD5SUM of a file written to that file can never match the actual MD5SUM of that file.
