#10275 new defect
Horizontal tilting (in certain Guests) behaves like Vertical Scrolling

Description
Under VBox, the Win7 guest and FreeBSD guest recognizes horizontal titling of the VBox mouse driver, but translates horizontal tilting of the mouse as vertical scrolls when it should be horizontal scrolls.
Horizontal tilting works out of the box for the Ubuntu guest -> i.e. horizontal tilting maps to a horizontal scroll.

I have this problem too in a new WIn 7 guest but an older XP guest seems to work fine. Both running under VB 4.2 using OS X Host.

Just tested a Windows 7 guest and a Windows 8.1 guest. Horizontal scrolling doesn't work correctly. Acts as pg/up and pg/down. Mac OSX 10.9.3. VirtualBox 4.3.12
Tested with Apple Mouse, Apple Magic Mouse, Apple Touch Pad.
They all seem to work in Linux guests.

Same here in a Windows 7 guest, on 4.3.10 Ubuntu 14.04 host. According to AutoHotkey, it appears that each wheel tilting is translated into multiple WheelUps/Downs so it work as a PageUp/Down effectively.

Same issue. I'm unable to use 2 finger scrolling on a touchpad in my guest, because even slight horizontal movements are interpreted as PageUp/Down. Here are the details:
Version: 4.3.14
Host: Ubuntu 14.04
Guest: Windows 8.1, Guest Additions installed

I'm experiencing the same issue.
Host: Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9.5
VirtualBoxVM Version: 4.3.24
Guest: Windows 7 x64, with Guest Additions installed

There turns out to be fairly old code in Qt which on X11 hosts unconditionally turns horizontal scroll events into Alt + vertical scroll events. We now attempt to undo that transformation.
Obviously other host OSes have other problems.
I can confirm this issue with an XP guest in an OS X host using the latest version of both VB and Guest Additions (4.1.14).
