DOS VM crashing after upgrade to 4.1.10

Description
I've got a legacy DOS applicaton that I've kept alive by running on a VirtualBox VM. The host is Fedora 14. After updating VirtualBox from 4.1.8 to 4.1.10, the VM will no longer come up. It gets as far as the DOS prompt, but then whether or I not I type anything, it crashes shortly after with the critical error dialog.
I've toggled back and forth between 4.1.8 and 4.1.10 several times, and it consistently works with 4.1.8 and fails with 4.1.10.
