Description
Hi,
when I try to install ubuntu 12.04 32 bit in my virtual box 4.1.16 on my 32 bit ubuntu lucid virtualbox crashes my host system.
After booting from CD the screen of virtualbox stays black immediately and the host freezes. Only a hard reboot of the host helps.
Please mail me how to debug this problem further. Thanks.

Are you sure that you really try to install the 32-bit version of Ubuntu? Because there is a known problem for 64-bit guests on 32-bit Linux hosts, see #10528.

I am experiencing a complete system freeze when running a 32 bit XP Pro on 12.04 64bit host. It wan't happening under 11.10 but started freezing very often after upgrading to 12.04.
(edit) I suspect this may need to be a new ticket.

Correct, please open a separate ticket and don't forget to attach the VBox.log file for such a VM session.

No response from the original reporter, closing.
Please be more specific. Does your host crash or freeze? Also, please attach the VBox.log file of such a VM session (even if the host crashes there should be such a file available, perhaps truncated but anyway...)
