Description
For the last couple versions I've had installed (4.1.16 and either 4.1.12 or 4.2.14--can't remember), I've had this issue.
At night, I typically shut down (save state) the (Ubuntu) VM, then put the Win 7 64-bit host to sleep.
The next day, I'm usually (but not always--maybe 3/4 or more of the time), greeted with the following when I try to restart the VM:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine icf109118_ubuntu. The saved state file 'C:\Users\15037\VirtualBox VMs\icf109118_ubuntu\Snapshots\2012-06-05T21-56-37-395840700Z.sav' is invalid (VERR_SSM_INTEGRITY_FOOTER). Delete the saved state and try again. Result Code: VBOX_E_FILE_ERROR (0x80BB0004) Component: Console Interface: IConsole {1968b7d3-e3bf-4ceb-99e0-cb7c913317bb}

To me that looks like the state of the VM was not completely saved. Which steps do you exactly when you shutdown your host that way? Do you trigger that 'VM save state' manually or do you use some script?
