Without 3D support for Linux with Compiz 3D effect like Ubuntu 10.04

Description

After install VirutalBox Guest Additions for Ubuntu 10.04 with 3D Acceleration selected, the VM fails to load the Desktop Environment after restart. Uncheck the '3D Acceleration' or login to the desktop in SafeMode, the desktop come back. According to the discussion in the forum, it seems Linux with Compiz 3D maybe one of the reasons. Here are some of the content available for reference, the VirtualBox Guest Additions Version 4.2.0 for Linux works fine until the Ver.4.2.2 is released.

And it is the issue from 4.2.2 not fixed in 4.2.4. But Ubuntu 12.04 with 3D Acc. still work fine.

Same problem with a fedora 13. Compiz works fine with addons 4.2.0 but does not work with addon 4.2.6

Could you check whether the newest VBox 4.2.8 and 4.2.8 additions still have this issue, and if yes, please provide a new VM log here and also /var/log/Xorg.*.log X server log files from your Guest.
