sharedfolder word 2003 save failure

Description
For a linux host and a windows XP guest, I tried to save a Word 2003 document in a shared folder, but came up with an error. I can create and write text files to the shared folder, but saving a Word 2003 file caused the problem. It said "Permission denied" and then the shared folder was no longer available.
