Corrupt VM settings window requries force quit of VirtualBox.

Description
VirtualBox 4.2.6, Mac Pro 4.1, 10.6.8, 24 GB RAM.
It has happened to me several times that the settings window of a virtual machine is blank or corrupted, e.g. showing only the toolbar, and requires to force quite the VirtualBox application. The problem apparently occurs regardless what virtual machine is selected or the machine state.
I have not been able to find out the cause or usage pattern that triggers the issue. Restarting the system does not help. Unfortunately nothing is being recorded in the log file of the VirtualBox application or VM at the time the issue occurs.
I also noticed that opening the virtual machine settings window takes 7 seconds to open since VB 4.2.4.
To reproduce the problem:
- Select any virtual machine in the VirtualBox Manager.
- Press the Settings button in the toolbar.

Please reopen if still relevant with VBox 4.3.2.
