Reported by: OS Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 4.2.6
Keywords: guru, sleep Cc:
Guest type: other Host type: Windows

Description

I had an Ubuntu VM running on Windows 7. I put my computer into sleep mode while the machine was running. After I woke up the computer and selected the VM window I got a message about a ciritical error (Gutu Meditation). I pressed OK to power off the machine, but after trying to start the machine I got the same error. After I rebooted Windows the machine managed to load correctly.

Summary: Critical error in machine after Windows 7 sleepVERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE after Windows 7 sleep

This usually happens if you run any VMM in parallel to VirtualBox. This applies also to the Windows 7 XP-compatibility mode.

Resolution: worksforme
Status: newclosed

Actually if this only happens after a sleep then this could also be a BIOS bug.
