Description
I had installed VBox 4.2.16-86992 on my windows 7/32 bit partition sometime ago. But few days ago installed windows 7/64 bit in to another partition. I wanted to move all my 32bit apps and data from win7/32 to win7/64. For that I used PCMover. It worked wonderfully and moved all apps. Including Oracle VBox also. Most applications worked just fine. Except Oracle VBox. It keeps complaining when I try to start a VM. It says "Cannot access the kernel driver!", "Make sure the kernel module has been loaded successfully".
Then I decided to uninstall it from win7/64. Went into programs & features in control panel and tried to uninstall it. It says "This application only runs in 32-bit Windows system. Please install the 64-bit version of Oracle VM Virtual box".
Then I re-downloaded VBox from VBox site (same version again) on to win7/64 directly and tried to install it again. But it still says the same as above, the msg I got while trying to uninstall!
I am just stuck. Is there a way out? Pl. help/
regards
Sorry, the move from a 32-bit partition to a 64-bit partition is not supported by VirtualBox.
