Description
For the last many versions of Virtualbox (the last 18 months or so), my Ubuntu guests have been frequently aborting. Does not abort if I turn off 3D acceleration. I can essentially reproduce it on call. I will attach an Apple crash report here. Current VB 4.2.18 and current Mac OSX 10.8.5 on Macbook Air 13" mid 2011. Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, and 13.04 guests with Unity or GNOME Shell desktops (both are 3D).

I should add that I have another 19 similar crash files over about the last month and they are all essentially the same. I.e, if my interpretation is correct, fault is null pointer dereference at gleRunVertexSubmitImmediate() + 3157, in GLEngine, in crashed thread ShCrOpenGL.

Looking around, I just found open ticket #11812 which seems to be the same issue. As the OP there asks, when will v4.3 be available? Mac users have been struggling with this bad bug for a long time.

4.3 is released now, and this should be fixed with it. Please give it a try and re-open this ticket if needed.
