Description
Installed the latest version of VirtualBox on Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 (RTM/final) and after that the hibernate function was not working anymore (after 10 min the pc shut down, not hibernate) and shutdown function was taking way to long (shutdown takes more than 5 minutes). Removed VirtualBox; everything was back to normal. This was tested on a i7 box with 24 GB of RAM;

I am currently having this issue too. How can we escalate this?
Same thing for me. When Virtual Box is installed, neither shutdown nor hibernate work. When I uninstall Virtual Box, shutdown and hibernate go back to normal.
I also have Windows 8.1 64-bit RTM
