Description

While trying to install Guest additions, a failure is detected in the kernel modules.

To me this looks more like a problem with your 3.8.13 tree rather than a problem with the VBox modules. The command

make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 CONFIG_MODULE_SIG= \
  -C /lib/modules/3.8.13-gentoo/build SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 \
  SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 modules

fails but it shouldn't. Is there a Makefile in the directory /lib/modules/3.8.13-gentoo/build?

I think you are right! It has been upgraded by a newer kernel version sources. I cannot compile for an old kernel, unless I find the specific package source again. You may close the ticket.
