Description
I've been using Virtual Box running Windows XP for syncing a WinCE device using ActiveSync, this worked fine. The device is a Zingui communication aid.
However, in Windows 7 with the Windows Mobile Device Centre, I can't make a proper connection. When I attach the device via USB, the Windows machine detects this and installs the drivers. The device shows up in the device manager as 'Microsoft USB Active Sync'
The connecion in Windows Mobile Device Centre fails and after a while the device responds with a Winsock error: "Cannot start communicatinos with the desktop computer. Winsock Services could no start due to a critical error."
It seems that this is an issue of virtual box with win7 guest OS because:
- virtualbox with WinXP/active sync works properly
- the device connects properly on native win7 machine.
The problem happens with version 4.3.4 as well as 4.2.20.
