Description
When I'm trying to play the webm generated by the video capture in Chrome it starts from the middle of the file, Firefox starts at the beginning but plays up to the middle. I think something is wrong with the index.

It makes more sense now but still very confusing. When I'm showing a video capture I want 0:00 to start when I start recording. Is it possible to add a checkbox to start the time from the beginning of the capture or beginning of the guest session?
Is there a way to cut the dead part and start at the first frame? Tried with several tools but still not sure how to do it.

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
The index is not wrong but one of your webbrowsers is wrong. All videos start at 0:00 -- this is the start of the VM runtime. If you don't start recording when the VM is started (i.e. you start capturing later or you stop+continue recording during VM runtime), the video might start later.
