Seamless mode freeze machine

Description
I run VirtualBox 4.3.10 r93012 on ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit). I have a virtual machine with Win-7 (64-bit) with dual monitors and 2D-acceleration enabled. If I switch to seamless mode everything but the mouse freeze (i.e. I cannot even click anything in ubuntu). Host machine is a DELL OptiPlex 7010 with an Intel i7-3770 CPU and 16GB RAM. The virtual machine is set-up to use 8GB RAM.
What could cause this freeze?
