Description
This problem exists since the update to VirtualBox 4.3.14.
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.9.4, VirtualBox 4.3.14 (64 Bit), running a Scientifix Linux 6.5 32 Bit (binary compatible to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 32 Bit)
Inside the VM I run a Teamspeak 2 client for Linux (problem also occurs with other audio software, like e.g. audacity).
I plug in a Logitech headset and I forward the headset to guest machine automatically in the USB filtering settings.
The headset registers successfully and can occasionally be used. However:
My Teamspeak partner complain about very bad audio quality (may this is worth mentioning) and after a few moments (not predictable), all running programs, that have an audio device open lock up. After a few seconds, the whole machine locks. If I'm fast I can submit a shutdown command for the linux guest. It will however lock up with the attempt to shut down the Virtual Box Guest Addistions.
I checked the microphone on a desktop machine (Fedora 20 Linux), where it works perfectly.
The Linux guest is stable like a rock as long as I don't plug in the USB Headset.
I also copied the VM to my Fedora 64 Bit Desktop to run it there (also VirtualBox 4.3.14), which however also fails with the same symptoms.
Thanks in advance...

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
I should also mention, that the locked up machine cannot be terminated with the common tools, like "Shutdown by ACPI", or "Shutdown", etc. I have to "immediately" (something like "kill -9") kill almost all processes related to with VirtualBox, before I can restart VirtualBox again.
