#13321 new defect
Mac minibar keeps appearing in Fullscreen when mouse hits the top
Reported by: | P! | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | GUI | Version: | VirtualBox 4.3.14 |
Keywords: | mac bar fullscreen | Cc: | |
Guest type: | all | Host type: | Mac OS X |
Description
Tried to
- clear the "Dock and Menubar: Auto-show in Fullscreen" checkbox (Main prefs)
- clear the ""Mini toolbar: Show in Fullscreen/Seemless" checkbox (VM Settings)
- force and set the "Application UI Presentation Mode" prop in all 3 Info.plist (VB, VBVM, vmstarter), tried values 3 and 4 (restarted VB each time)
Checked the many posts about the matter. For VB and Mac (Mavericks).
But still. In Fullscreen, when the mouse hits the top of the screen, that Mac bar appears.
It is very annoying since the guest OS has its menus on top for convenience.

machineghost, which VBox version are you talking about, does this still happen with VBox 5.0.16? And are you using 10.11?

I'm having a similar problem, but I've noticed that you can temporarily fix it by dropping out of fullscreen mode and then returning to it. Doing this seems to fix the bug for awhile ... I *think* until the screensaver/power savings/sleep mode kicks in, at which pint the bug re-appears.
It seems like VB is setting some sort of "ignore mouse movements along the top" flag when you enter full-screen, and everything works as long as its set. However, anything that messes with the display seems to clear this flag, causing the bug, so if you could just get the flag to persist through display changes that would likely solve things.
