Description
Hi!
Try this:
- Create a new VM.
- Tell Virtualbox the guest will be a "Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks (64 bit)"
- Finish creating the VM...
- When done, open the VM settings and look in System / Chipset.
Current results:
- The VM has gotten an ICH9 chipset and can't boot.
Expected results:
- The VM should have gotten a PIIX3 chipset with which the OS can boot.
I did get a working VM eventually by following these instructions: http://ntk.me/2012/09/07/os-x-on-os-x/
Also, the "Guest type" field in this bug tracker doesn't contain any "OSX desktop" field so I choose "other".

Please be also aware that with more than ~3.5G guest RAM, VBox EFI guests with ICH9 don't boot. But that problem is handled in #11103.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
The ICH9 chipset is used by intention. Please attach a VBox.log file of such a VM session.
