VirtualBox does not warn that Extension Pack is out of date

VirtualBox is upgraded by my system's package management, while the extension pack needs to be downloaded manually. While that makes perfect sense, VirtualBox should really check that versions for these packages are the same if it needs this constraint to work flawlessly.

I only noticed I had an outdated extension pack since I was getting random machine aborts and found several forum entries with this solution.

Actually we check if the latest Extension Pack is installed during the update check but it might make sense to check the version also at other places to satisfy users using the package management system.
