Unable to delete snapshot with 2 child snapshots

Description
When I tried to delete a snapshot I got this error:
Failed to delete the snapshot 1 of the virtual machine Windows XP chs.
Snapshot '1' of the machine 'Windows XP chs' cannot be deleted, because it has 2 child snapshots, which is more than the one snapshot allowed for deletion.

I tried this scenario with VMware, and VMware does not have this problem.
Is this 'by design' or feature-not-implemented yet?
