Cannot reproduce, neither on Windows 7 nor on Windows XP 64. As far as I understand you open the dialog for selecting the CD/DVD image. When you right click, what is the exact moues position or doesn't that matter? I right click on the free space or on an .iso file and I see no crash.
Also, do you have some foreign theme installed?

No patched theme or other things. Stock Windows with not that many software products installed. But it works on my laptop. I recently installed Notepad++. Will see if this causes it. If it's not the problem I suspect some hard to track down race conditon maybe in QT4. 2 X5675 and a lot of physical cores.

Uninstalled Notepad++ and other software which installed shell extension. Also reinstalled all c++ runtimes. No luck. The bug on XP 64 might be there since 4.3.14. Tried one of the latest 4.13 test builds without hardening and it worked without a problem. It also works intermediately and always when I change the CD in the machine settings while the vm is stopped.. When it doesn't work vboxsvc hangs.
It's worse on 7 but there it also works intermediately. The problem is always vbioxsvc.
Can only reproduce it on this PC. I am sure it's not a hardware issue, virus or whatever but a freak timing problem. Not sure how to track this down.

The Windows 7 problem did go away with 4.3.28 but the Server 2003 x64 / XP64 problem still exists.

In Windows 7 x64 on the same PC the dialog is not even shown and VboxSVC.exe hangs. Needs to be killed from the task manager.
