Description
I am unable to drag to select text in Google Chrome on a Linux Guest.
There is currently a thread on chromium at code.google.com for this. A common factor is when running in VirtualBox - https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=456222 . Note: Their title for the bug is missleading and they are lumping the above description into that same bug report.
By drag to select text I mean: mouse down on some text, drag mouse to highlight some text, then mouse up.
I can drag to select text in Firefox with no problems.
My setup: Host OS: Windows 8.1 Pro, VirtualBox: 4.3.26 r98988 with Guest additions installed, Virtual Machine OS: XUbuntu 14.04 last updated 3/17/2015, Chrome: 41.0.2272.89 (64-bit)
On the code.google.com report, people have seen the issue with host OS of Mac OS X. One report mentioned downgrading chrome fixed it. Another mentioned uninstalling Guest Additions fixed it.

I can verify the problem with Google Chrome > 40 and Linux guests. The cursor also doesn't change as it should with different content. OSX 10.10.3.
Occurs with all hosts

It looks like someone at Chromium made a fix: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=456222#c133
Someone reported encountering this same issue with Virtual Box version: 4.3.12r93733 - https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=456222#c72
