Description
I get this error in connection with using virtualbox with my Harmony remote and my garmin GPSMAP 60 GPS unit. For the latter, the problem is intermittent. Yesterday, the GPS connected to virtual box fine. Today it fails with the above error message OR it shows as being connected but software cannot communicate with it. Complete error message is as follows:
Failed to attach the USB device Unknown device 091E:0003 [0001] to the virtual machine Win7.
Failed to create a proxy device for the USB device. (Error: VERR_READ_ERROR).

I just tried to change the guest type from linux to windows, but there is no obvious way to do that (???), so I add that info as a comment.
