https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch08.html#vboxmanage-export Documentation on the VBoxManage export command mentions --option in the last paragraph. Using 4.3.28_OSE installed on Archlinux, the correct option is --options, plural. --option fails, giving usage help. --options succeeds.
