Description
If I'm opening directly the storage settings of a virtual machine the color of the pre-selected text (in my case "Controller: SATA") is black while it should be white. But selecting the pre-selected text again fixes the issue.

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 dev with Openbox 3.6.1 as window manager and the virtualbox-qt package.

In that case I would like to know the exact version of VirtualBox. Is it really 5.0.12 as selected in the version field of this ticket?

Yes, the version field is correct. Specifically it is version 5.0.12-dfsg-2 of the virtualbox-qt package and I was now able to reproduce this issue again on this version.
Which Linux distribution is that, which VirtualBox package did you install and which window manager are you using?
