Description
Hello,
I have ASUS GL552VW, 16RAM, Intel i7-6700HQ CPU with Windows 10 64bit.
Virtualbox reports that vt-x is disabled but vt-x is enabled in BIOS. The BIOS version is latest. Also Hyper-V is not installed on the host.
Any clues why I am getting this strange error? Log files are attached to this ticket.
Thank You Ivica

I have no idea. The machine status register which provides the status of VT-x and SMX clearly says that both features are not available at the moment. This is something which is either set by the BIOS or by the operating system. You say that you don't have Hyper-V installed but you run Windows 10 which comes with Hyper-V. Please make 101% sure that you disable Hyper-V in Windows 10.

I've added picture from "Turn Windows features on or off". As you can see Hyper-V is not enabled.
I also double checked the VT-x settings in BIOS and with Intel(R) Processor Identification Utility.

Right, but there is still the question why VT-x is not available on your box. Did you check all your BIOS settings?
I want to repeat, this is NOT a VirtualBox bug but some problem with your computer. Google might also be able to help you.

Strange, after I re-installed the windows the issue got fixed.
I reinstalled the same Windows ... You can close the ticket.
UPDATE: Previously, I had Avast installed and probably (maybe?) that was the issue.
Thank you for your time.

Just as information, if someone else is having the same problem as I did.
In Avast, under the Troubleshooting Options page Uncheck Enable Hardware-Assisted Virtualization.
