Paravirtualization is not the default for Linux guest VMs

Description
When instructing VBox that I will be installing a modern Linux distro, Paravirtualization is not the default adapter type.
This is the KVM standard, has better performance than an emulated hardware NIC and has been fully supported since Kernel 2.6 so really should be the default.

KVM actually _is_ the default. Why do you think it is not?
