I just installed virtualbox and at the startup, fail to open a sesction for a virtual machine desiderium

Doesn't look like your host is Windows. I would rather guess that your host is Linux. Your Linux distribution probably has a different version of VirtualBox already installed. So you probably need to uninstall the other version first.
