Summary of Related Bug, With More Specific Details of Controls That Cause Crash

Navigating Virtualbox Manager GUI controls in the following manner, causes Virtualbox Manager to seize and become unresponsive.

Navigation

Virtualbox Manager (left pane, click on applicable VM, see next item) > VM (centos 5.11 64-bit) > Storage > Controller: SATA > Add New Storage Attachment (button) > Add Hard Disk (list item).

Under Virtualbox version 5.1.6 r110634 (Qt 5.5.1) for Windows, Virtualbox Manager seizes and becomes unresponsive. Clicking the Debug (button) causes Virtualbox Manager to close unexpectedly.

Under Virtualbox version 5.1.7 r110711 (Qt 5.5.1) for Windows (most recent test build as of 2016-09-17), upon clicking Add Hard Disk (list item), VBox Manager close unexpectedly (doesn’t offer dialog with Debug (button), VBox Manager Window disappears).

Hello,
Is there any special kind of remote drives/folders listed in the Windows explorer of that particular host?
Like some cloud service (OneDrive, GoogleDrive, etc) or maybe mobile-phone attached or some network kind of drive?

I confirm I have exactly the same issue described in the document above. I've tested it on 2 independent Windows 7 x64 machines and result was the same. The issue occurs from the earliest 5.1.x version and is still not fixed in 5.1.6
