Description

Debian Sid with Virtualbox 5.1.6 from Debian's contrib repository. Identical behaviour on deb packages from Oracle. Fresh Windows 7 guest. Intel HD Audio selected.

PulseAudio shows Virtualbox has captured the microphone and is recording its input.

Windows 7 shows no recording devices. (right click speaker > 'Recording Devices') Applications e.g. Skype claim no audio devices.

Sound output works perfectly well.
