Camera access not working

Description
Apps such as Viber and Camera apps aren't able to connect with the host camera on my laptop since updating to the new VBox version.
Running Android version 4.4 lollipop 32-bit on VBox 5.1 on Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit)

You say this stopped working since you updated VirtualBox. Which was the previous VirtualBox version you used and which exact VirtualBox version (5.1 is not specific enough) are you using now? Also please attach a VBox.log file of such a VM session when you are trying to access your camera.
