Description
Hi,
I recompiled my stock openSUSE 10.2 kernel (2.6.18.2-34-default) with CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y set. Before I recompiled I also installed 'kernel-syms'
After recompilation and reboot, I replaced my USB line in /etc/fstab as follows:
/dev/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults,devmode=666 0 0
I re-installed VirtualBox and USB options appeared on my 'Settings' page. I set them however if I play any videos on my guest W2K O/S while USB is activated, the VM locks. It consumes 100% of user and is unresponsive.
I believe this change needs to be rolled in to VirtualBox in order for me to not setup a security risk (_FS) and possibly to get video and USB to peacefully co-exist on the guest O/S:
Cheers, -pablo
Retry with 1.4.0 and reopen if it still occurs please.
Regarding the so-called security risk. This Novell guy was forced to change his opinion.
