Description
Good morning to all, my VirtualBox most of times does not start by double ckicking on the Desktop icon. In the task manager I can see both processes: VirtualBox.exe and VBoxSVC.exe. I have Windows 7 64 bits as host OS, Linux Ubuntu as Guest OS, Avira free as Antivirus and the last version of VirtualBox installed. I read a lot of articles but I can not find a solution and I can not work. I hope You can help me in finding a definitive solution
Thanx in advance.
Franco

You seem to run into a VBoxSVC hang (if VBoxSVC would crash then the process would be intermittently visible), apparently on startup.
Frank already asked for the necessary log files. If you don't provide them we can't help (and even with there isn't a guarantee that the logs contain a hint what's causing the hang - this isn't something which is known to happen to more users than just you).

You are using version 5.0.30, might be worth to update to 5.1.18.
Are there any files in /Users/Franco/VirtualBox VMs/ besides VirtualBox.xml? Do you have at least one VM configured? Is the VirtualBox.xml file readable or has the hard disk some issues? The VBoxSVC.log shows only that Virtualbox.xml is about being loaded but I would expect a couple of more files.

You say "does not start most of the time" -- so sometimes it starts. When it starts, does it take very long until the VM selector shows up?
Afer you double-clicked on the desktop icon and the VirtualBox.exe process is running, please open /Users/USERNAME/.VirtualBox (replace USERNAME with the actual logged in user) and look for selectorwindow.log and VBoxSVC.log. Please attach both log files to this ticket.
