KDE taskbar is not visible

Description
The KDE taskbar is not visible on a Linux guest. It disappears as soon as you click on the bar. Screenshots and log attached.

It is 16.10. The issue also occurs on KDE of other distros like Fedora and Arch.
I couldn't reproduce the issue by disabling the 3D Acceleration in the VM settings. Thank you for the workaround.

This is still happening in 5.2.10.
After login, the taskbar briefly appears (less than 1") and then disappears. If you manage blindly to open the launcher menu, you see it but if you start any application, its window is not visible.
Tried it with various KDE installations (KDE Neon, KUbuntu, Mint), the same thing in all of them. Disabling 3D makes them work normally again, without 3D acceleration though.

Which Ubuntu version is running as your guest? Does the same problem happen if you disable 3D in the VM settings?
