[Solaris] OpenIndiana guest, auto-resize doesn't work
Reported by: | Tipo | Owned by: | |

Component: | guest additions/x11/graphics | Version: | VirtualBox 5.1.26 |
Keywords: | Cc: | ||
Guest type: | Solaris | Host type: | Windows |
Description
I've installed VirtualBox 5.1.26 and Extension Pack on Windows 10 and installed OpenIndiana Hipster as a guest, with Guest Additions, and I can't get the screen to auto-resize. It is stuck at 800x600 pixels.
A google search shows that I'm not alone: https://openindiana.org/pipermail/openindiana-discuss/2017-May/020816.html
I tried vbox 5.0.40, but it made no difference.
Seamless mode is greyed out.

OpenIndiana is not a supported guest. That doesn't mean that we don't want it to work, but we don't have free developer time to make it happen. There is community support for other guest systems, notably FreeBSD and Haiku. It might be worth finding volunteers (volunteers from Oracle's point of view that is: someone else could be paying them) interested in keeping OpenIndiana working with VirtualBox.
