Description
I can easily reproduce the issue on my PC using Windows 10 64 bit 1703 and Debian Sid (64 bit), each as a host OS. I was able to bring the COM service in that state were it won't terminate on its own, without involving the NAT/DHCP services (associated with NAT Network), but it's much more difficult, I can't time it properly.
The easiest way for me to reproduce the problem is to start my Windows 10 x64 and Windows 7 x64 VMs (both have a saved snapshot), both using NAT Network. I close the VirtualBox Manager and there are no other VirtualBox processes running, except those related to my two VMs. After each guest OS is up and running, I initiate a Windows 10 guest OS shutdown from within the guest. After 3-4 seconds from initiating the Windows 10 guest shutdown, I forcefully terminate the Windows 7 guest using the Close VM dialog (with a restore to the snapshot). The Windows 10 VM takes a few more seconds to shutdown (both VMs are stored on a standard 7200rpm hard-disk drive). After it too has closed, I'm left with the VBoxSVC/VBoxNetNAT/VBoxNetDHCP process tree.
I'm attaching some debug logs, from my own Windows debug build of VirtualBox OSE 5.2.0. If someone requires them, I offer the VMs for upload, or process dumps for the release build, logs, or even stack traces for each thread (OSE).

Replying to MihaiH.:
Btw, is there a way to recover my old account name (mhanor)? I was forced to change it when I changed my e-mail address.
Did that happen recently? You did post in the forums about a month ago, it should allow you to use your old username/password, no?

I was forced 1-2 years ago to change the name. I login with my e-mail and password, that's what the Oracle login system requires. The forums page still identifies me as mhanor. I guess there are multiple databases and a hack was used to make it all work with the Oracle login system.

Hmm... OK, I'll let the admins sort this one out, I don't even have the power. I was just mentioning the fact that your "mhanor" account in the forums seemed to be active.
PS: that "hack" is called the Oracle Single Sign On (OSSO) "feature"... ;)
