iPhone running iOS 11.1 Not accessible in VirtualBox running Mac OS High Sierra

Description

Hi,

I have a very frustrating issue. If I plug in an iPhone running IOS v9.3.5 to the USB port then within my Mac VM running High Sierra, iTunes sees the phone. If I plug in an iPhone running iOS v11.1 it does not. The "iPhone" is seen in the system report under the Mac in the USB 2.0 section.

I am trying to test and deploy an app so I need XCode to see the iPhone running v11.1

Can you help?

Thanks

Are you asking from Oracle to help you with a Hackintosh? You do not have an OSX Host, you have a Windows Host, and unfortunately OSX guests are only supported on Apple hardware (which you do not have). See: Mac OS X guest on a Windows Host.

Well, it is legal to run Windows on Apple hardware and use OS X inside a VM. With the current information it is not visible whether the Windows runs on genuine Apple hardware. Anyway, for any help on this issue we need at least a VBox.log of the affected VM. Please reopen if you attached a VBox.log.

Replying to aeichner:

I know, I've done it. An abomination!!! :D

With the current information it is not visible whether the Windows runs on genuine Apple hardware.

With the kind of hardware that's present in "Capture2.GIF", I'm more than 99.9% confident that this is a Hackintosh.

Well both are USB devices which are not tied to a specific device so everything is possible...
